I became interested in understanding more about Kabbalah after learning that many of the teachings of Jesus were similar to those of Kabbalah. After all, Kabbalah is about spiritual transformation. Could it be possible that Jesus was teaching Kabbalah??

Kabbalah has been called ancient Judaism my many. It is similar to Judaism in that it evolved in the same region and uses the Five Books of Moses, the Torah, as well as the oral Torah, the Talmud, as a common foundation. Some define Kabbalah as an esoteric, mystical offshoot of Jewish thought. Kabbalah defines, God, the world and our very existence as one of Light and Energy. Light is an all-encompassing radiance of divine love. Moreover, Kabbalah focuses on prayer and meditation as a means of connecting to this Light. Kabbalah appealed to me because I saw these commonalities, or intersections, in Buddhism, Gnostic Christianity and the Aboriginal Australian principles.

Kabbalah, like the other disciplines, teaches that we can connect to God and the Universe directly, rather than through a complicated hierarchy of "chosen" representatives. It teaches that we are all part of that white Light; we came from the Light. We are pure Energy. It teaches we are One with God and with the Universe. Its message is one of peace and connectedness.
